The HP LaserJet Enterprise P3015 was released in August 2009 for small workgroups needing high volume monochrome printing. With a print speed of 42 pages per minute (ppm) (40 ppm A4) and a duty cycle of 100,000 pages per month, the P3015 was considered a workhorse for the small office. A P3011 model was made available in China, and Troy offered a MICR version, the 3015 MICR Security Printer.

Cartridges are available in 6,000 page low yield and 12,500 page high yield versions, and are similar to the Q7551A and Q7551X used in HP's P3005. There are significant differences that prevent interchangeability, and conversion for use between models is not possible without extensive modifications. A chip is located on the waste bin, and is required for correct printer operation.
