The Sharp MX-2600 and MX-3100 MFPs were introduced in August 2008 in Europe and North America. Each has a duty cycle of 90,000 pages per month and offers Print/Copy/Scan/Email functionality with optional FAX capability (scanned documents can be emailed directly from the device without the need for a PC). The MX-2600 print speed is OEM-rated at 26 pages per month (ppm) for both color and monochrome, while the MX-3100 is rated at 31 ppm for both color and monochrome printing.
Both models use the same supplies set, made up of four chipped toner cartridges, one drum unit, a waste toner box, one developer unit for color and another for black. The toner cartridge design is different from the familiar hopper-waste bin combination, with the waste toner box eliminating the need for a waste bin. Neither the MX-2600 nor the MX-3100 will print with a spent chip on or a chip missing from any toner cartridge, requiring a new chip with each remanufacturing cycle.
Note: Products not qualified for use in MX-4000, MX-4001 or MX-5001 MFPs.
