Xerox launched the monochrome Phaser 4510 printer, based on the Phaser 4500 engine, in April 2007. With prints speeds of up to 45 pages per minute (ppm) the 4510 was faster than its 36 ppm-rated 4500 predecessor.
Acom® introduced a MICR enhanced version one month later, and other OEMs including Epson®, Okidata®, Sharp® and TallyGenicom introduced versions of their own all based on the same Xerox print engine.
The supplies set for the Xerox 4510 is made up of a toner cartridge and 200,000 page yield maintenance kit. Replacement toner cartridges are available in 10,000 page low yield and 19,000 page high yield versions. Yields vary for each of the other OEMs, and all versions require a chip on the toner cartridges for correct printer operation.
Note: Xerox Phaser 4500 and 4510 cartridges are NOT interchangeable
