Kyocera introduced the FS-3920 monochrome laser printer in February 2009, followed by the FS-3040 MFP in June 2011 and the FS-3640 in July 2011. Other models in the line include the FS-3140 MFP and FS-3540 MFP. All have an OEM-rated sprint speed of 40 pages per minute (ppm) and duty cycles of 200,000 pages per month.
The standard supplies set is made up of a toner cartridge yielding 15,000 pages and a separate drum unit. The toner cartridge requires a chip for correct printer operation.
