The Lexmark C746 and C748 color laser printers were announced in April 2012. Print speeds are OEM-rated at 35 pages per minute (ppm) for both color and black-and-white printing, with duty cycles rated at 100,000 for both models.

The supplies set is made up of four toner cartridges, a separate drum unit and a waste toner box. Replacement toner cartridges are available in Return and Non-return versions, both yielding 7,000 pages (standard yield) and 10,000 pages (high yield) for colors (C, M and Y). Black cartridges are available only in 12,000 page yield versions. The drum page yield is OEM-stated at 20,000 pages. All toner cartridges require chips for the printers to function correctly.
