HP Type 84 ink jet cartridges are available in only three colors – black, light cyan and light magenta. These cartridges are used in several wide format printers, including the DesignJet 10ps and 120 models. Ink cartridges used in these printers for the remaining colors are Type 82 (yellow) and Type 11 (cyan, magenta). There is also the DesignJet 130 series that uses only the Type 84 black cartridge along with Type 85 for all other colors.
Each printer ships with a set of cartridges and printheads, and each ink cartridge requires a chip for correct printer operation.
