HP introduced the Enterprise M680 color laser multifunction printer (MFP) in April 2014 with OEM-rated print speeds of 45 pages per minute (ppm) for both color and black and white printing, and an average monthly duty cycle rated at 120,000 pages. The print-only version, the Enterprise M651, has the same print specifications.

The supplies set is made up of four toner cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow and black). Replacement color cartridges have OEM-stated page yields of 16,500 pages (standard yield). Replacement black cartridges are available in two yield versions, 11,500 (standard yield) and 21,000 (high yield). All cartridges require a chip for correct printer operation.
