In November 2012, Dell introduced the B5460 monochrome printer, with OEM-rated print speeds of 63 pages per minute (ppm) and a monthly duty cycle of 275,000 pages per month. The B5465 MFP followed in July 2013, with OEM-rated print speeds of 70 ppm and a monthly duty cycle of 300,000 pages per month.
Both printers use the same 6,000 page low yield, 25,000 page high yield and 45,000 page extra high yield toner cartridges, along with the 100,000 page yield drum unit. However, cartridge SKUs vary depending upon the market region in which they are sold. Replacement toner cartridges are available in both Use and Return and Non-Return versions. The B5460 ships with a 10,000 page yield “ship-with” cartridge and the B5465 MFP ships with a 25,000 page yield “ship-with” cartridge.
All toner cartridges require chips for the printers to function correctly.
