In March 2010 Dell introduced the 5230/5530 printers and 5535 MFP targeted at high volume, medium-size workgroups, and in May 2010 the 5350 printer geared towards large businesses. OEM rated print speeds range from 45 pages per minute (ppm) in the 5230 to 55 ppm in the 5530 and 5535 MFP. All are based on the Lexmark^® T650 family print engine.

All models ship with either standard or high yield full-capacity cartridges rather than lower-yielding "starter" units (the 5230 being 7,000 page yield, the 5350 10,000 page yield, the 5530 10,000 page yield, and the 5535 MFP 18,000 page yield). Replacement cartridges are offered in differing page yields varying by printer model and geographic location. Many of the cartridge components are interchangeable with those in the Lexmark T650 family cartridges.

All toner cartridges require chips for the printers to function correctly.
