The Canon LBP-7780 printers have an OEM-rated print speed of up to 32 pages per minute (ppm) for both color and black-and-white printing, and a duty cycle rated at 75,000 pages per month. There are three sub-branded models, the i-SENSYS LBP-7780Cx, imageCLASS LBP-7780Cdn and Laser Shot LBP-7780Cx.

The supplies set is made up of four all-in-one toner cartridges and a waste toner box. Printers ship with 6,100 page black and 6,400 page cyan, magenta and yellow standard yield cartridges. Replacement color toner cartridges are available only in the standard yield, while replacement black cartridges are available in both standard and 12,000 page high yield versions. The replacement waste toner box yields 18,000 pages.

All toner cartridges require a chip for correct printer operation.
