The Canon LBP-7200 family of printers were introduced from May 2009 to November 2010 worldwide, with different geographic brandings arriving at different times (imageCLASS, i-SENSYS and Laser Shot). Each had an OEM rated print speed of 20 A4 (21 letter) pages per minute (ppm) and an average monthly duty cycle of 40,000 pages.

The MFP version of the LBP-7200, the i-SENSYS MF8330, was launched in Europe in November 2009. It was equipped with the same print specifications as the LBP-7600, with copy, scan and fax functionality added. Other models in the series were released later, including but not limited to the LBP-7600, LBP-7660, LBP-7680 and their MFP versions, the MF8330, MF8350 and MF8380. Although print speeds remained the same for all models, the monthly duty cycle increased to 60,000 for the LBP-7660 and LBP-7680 models.

Printers ship with 1,200 page yield black and 1,400 page yield color cartridges. Replacement cartridges are available as 3,400 page yield black and 2,900 page yield color versions. All cartridges require chips for correct printer operation.
