The Canon Satera LBP-8600 series was launched in Japan in late January 2010. The models making up the series are the 27 page per minute (ppm) LBP-8610, the 32 ppm LBP-8620 and 37 ppm LBP-8630 monochrome printers, all targeted at the small office / home office (SOHO) market.

Printers ship with starter cartridges that contain approximately one-third the standard toner load (5,500 page yield vs. 15,000 page yield). Both starter and replacement cartridges (4210B001, type CRG-527) are chipped, and are similar to those used in the HP ^® 5200 (Q7516A) and Canon LBP-3500 (0045B004, type CRG-509) but are not interchangeable without modification.
