The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M552, M553 printers have OEM-rated print speeds of 33 and 38 pages per minute (ppm) respectively in both color and black-and-white printing, and a monthly duty cycle rating of up to 80,000 pages for each model.

Canon also offers several models based on the HP print engine with similar print specifications. Many of the cartridge components are qualified for use in both OEM's cartridges.

The supplies set is made up of four all-in-one toner cartridges. Replacement color cartridges are offered in 5,000 page standard and 9,500 page high yields, and replacement black cartridges in 6,000 page standard and 12,500 page high yield versions. Printers ship with standard yield cartridges pre-installed. All toner cartridges require a chip for correct printer operation.
