This Odyssey drum features our patented SafeDrive gear technology, which features a button mechanism that uses the OEM alignment ramp to engage and disengage the dongle, providing smooth removal and installation. Other aftermarket designs have caused cartridges to become stuck in the printer, or even break the printer.

The drum and gear are pre-assembled and a bearing plate is included with each drum. During remanufacturing, the OEM bearing plate is removed by drilling two pilot holes through the ultrasonic welds. During re-assembly, simply attach the replacement bearing plate with the two new screws that are provided. No further modification of the OEM cartridge plastic is needed.
